On international women's day 2016, Dulciana Vocal Ensemble launched a call for scores, asking for women around the world to send them their finest music for upper voices. In response to that call, we recieved 80 pieces of music, from a vast cross-section of age groups and nationalities. We recieved sacred pieces and secular pieces. We recieved settings of texts in Latin, English, Italian, Chinese, Hebrew, and music with no words at all. On October 24th, we will present a concert of 10 of the finest of these works, for your enjoyment:

In no particular order, those pieces are:

I Could Fall – Gala Flagello (USA)
Come Away Death – Alison Willis (UK)
Mount Mirror – Ruth Alon (Israel)
A Painting – Katerina Gimon (Canada)
Elegy – Meredith Brammeier (USA)
I Sang for Joy – Rachel DeVore Fogarty (USA)
Pie Jesu – Julia Seeholzer (USA)
The Dawning – Margaret Muller (Australia)
O Nata Lux – Sungji Hong (Korea)
Climate Honesty – Rebekah Driscoll (USA)
We will also be performing the sublime In Paradisum by renowned Ukranian-born Estonian composer Galina Grigorieva. Hear more of her work here:
